Scientific Activities

Prof. Liepert is a member of the expert group for the guidelines of the German Society for Neurology and Neurological Rehabilitation (DGNR) and member of the board of the German Society for Neurorehabilitation. Furthermore, he is a member of the board of the Lurija Institute. Since 2017, he is Chairman of the guideline commission "Pharmaceuticals for the treatment of motor and language deficits after stroke" of the DGNR. His research work includes among others the field of clinical neurophysiology with a focus on transcranial magnetic stimulation.

Since 2001, Prof. Chatzikonstantinou has been teaching at the Mannheim Medical Faculty of the University of Heidelberg and has a Certificate for University Didactics. He holds a doctoral degree from the University of Freiburg and is an associate professor of the University of Heidelberg. Furthermore, he serves as a reviewer for various medical journals. He is member of the German Society for Neurology, the German Society for Clinical Neurophysiology and Functional Imaging, the German Stroke Society, and the German Society for Epileptology.

About Dr. Michael Kaps

Dr. med. Michael Kaps is the Deputy Medical Director of the Department of Early Rehabilitation, which treats severely affected neurological patients. He has many years of experience in the management of international patients. His key activities include neurological intensive medicine, ventilator weaning, rehabilitation of patients with severe disturbances of consciousness, use of botulinum toxin, and diagnostic assessment and treatment of swallowing disorders.

Other activities include neurological diagnostics, differential diagnostics, neurological intensive medicine and rehabilitation as well as the treatment of traumatic and non-traumatic brain injuries.
