In order for our experts to evaluate your request, we need the following documents:

• Current and detailed medical report of the patient, translated to German or English (not older than three months)
• A summary of your or your relatives current condition as you perceive it (Is he or she responsive, walking, eating without help etc.)
• COVID-19 vaccination status

If possible, the following documents should also be submitted:

• Completed patient questionnaire
• Recent MRI / CT scans
• Screening for multi-resistant organisms (MDRO)
• Current medication list of the patient

After we received your inquiry, our experts will assess the documents and we will provide you with a feedback within 48 hours (Mon - Fri).

To better understand your situation and give you the chance to speak to our experts directly, we also offer digital consultations. If you are interested in this option, please let us know.

Our International Office will inform you whether a treatment at the Kliniken Schmieder is possible. In case of a positive response, we will send you your individual treatment offer. The offer includes a cost estimate as well as all treatment and service offers at the Kliniken Schmieder.

Of course, we are available to answer any questions you may have about the offer and the treatment. After you have signed the offer and transferred the amount of the cost estimate, we will start preparing your stay.

After we received your prepayment, we will arrange an appointment for your the admission at the designated clinic.

Our International Office can also assist you with your travel arrangements, the organization of transportation from the airport to the clinic, and the booking of hotels or apartments for relatives accompanying you.

What to bring with you for your stay:

• Passport or identity card
• 2 passport photos for the extension of visa
• Regular clothing and nightwear (bedclothes will be provided)
• Bathing wear (dressing gown and bath slippers will be provided)
• Drugs (drugs for your neurological treatment will mostly be provided)
• Tracksuit / sportswear
• Casual shoes
• Solid footwear
• Sanitary products
• Splints / supports etc.

On the day of admission you will be welcomed by a member of our International Office. The International Office will show you the clinic, the ward, and your patient room, and go through all the admission modalities with you.

After your arrival in the patient room, you will be examined and admitted by one of our doctors. Depending on the time of your arrival, the therapeutic admission will take place directly on the day of your arrival or on the following day.

The duration of your stay depends on the severity of your illness as well as your individual progress and is therefore difficult to estimate in advance. We recommend a stay of at least six weeks.
